The PUNTACANA Foundation has provided new sports facilities and improved existing ones in the town of Verón, including building and equipping a new softball/baseball pitch and completing a basketball court. The Foundation also supported the organization of a series of sports tournaments, including inter-school basketball and volleyball, inter-community baseball and basketball, as well as supporting the regional basketball tournament.

Community leaders agree that these sports facilities provide a healthy alternative for young people in an area that suffers the effects of drugs and prostitution. The community manages the facilities with supervision and follow-up from the PUNTACANA Foundation.

The PUNTACANA Foundation has improved the sports facilities for several local schools including Los Manantiales, Cortecito, Verón and Cristinita as well as for the Ann & Ted Kheel Polytechnic in Verón.
